Update: Pregnant Kate Middleton released from hospital
We promise not to update you on every little move the Duchess of Cambridge makes now that we all know she is expecting. But here is the first photo of a pregnant Kate Middleton leaving hospital yesterday after being admitted for severe morning sickness on Monday.
Simply dressed in a navy blue Diane von Furstenberg checked coat, periwinkle pashmina, black tights and Russell and Bromley suede boots, the Duchess smiled as she exited the hospital with her husband Prince William by her side. Clutching a yellow bouquet of roses, she appeared rather pale and tired (understandably) following her illness. Nevertheless Kate smiled at the waiting press and told them: "I'm feeling much better, thank you."
Meanwhile, Prince Charles has spoken for the first time about the news he will be a grandfather.
"I'm thrilled, marvellous," he said. "A very nice thought of grandfatherhood at my old age, if I may say so. So that's splendid. And I'm very glad my daughter-in-law is getting better, thank goodness."
It is reported that Kate will not attend two royal engagements - a Centrepoint Royal Albert Hall fundraiser and the British Military Tournament - which she was invited to this weekend. Instead doctors have advised the Duchess, who is believed to be barely eight weeks pregnant, to rest and drink plenty of fluids. Perhaps it's time for her to put the feet up and watch re-runs of Downton Abbey.
