Kate Bosworth is Topshop's mystery Christmas girl - watch the video!
The riddle as to who the mystery girl is behind Topshop's Christmas campaign has been revealed. It is none other than Kate Bosworth! The American actress stars in a short film titled 'Winter Wonderland' which has been directed by Michael Polish who also happens to be Bosworth's boyfriend.
Standing atop a grand piano Bosworth performs a sultry version of Winter Wonderland while dressed in a sparkly custom-made Topshop dress, which she apparently had a hand in creating. Like it? Well you will soon be able to buy the dress and her matching shoes via topshop.com to coincide with the launch of the company's Los Angeles store in February.
The camera pans around her while she croons a breathy rendition of the Christmas carol. Then of course snow falls from the roof to cover her as she sings beneath an oversized chandelier.
"This project brings together two important aspects of my life: cinema and fashion," said Bosworth. "I have always been a fan of the Topshop brand, and it has been an honor to work with Sir Phillip [Green] and the team. I hope everyone enjoys watching it as much as we did making it."
Said to be a inspired by the famous piano scene starring Michelle Pfeiffer in The Fabulous Baker Boys, it certainly is soulful, but is it Topshop? Coupled with the retailer's plans to make it a Top 40 hit for Christmas (you can download it via iTunes), I can't help but wonder why? I do love Bossie, but why her and why is she singing?
Hmm, maybe the Grinch has crept up on me a tad early this season but I don't feel very Christmas cheery after watching this video. Do you? Tell us below.
