Jessica Simpson confirms she is pregnant with baby no. 2
It's true! Jessica Simpson has confirmed that she is expecting her second child via several different ways. She used her platform as a Weight Watchers spokesperson to reveal not only that she has shed 50 pounds in the last year, but that she is also pregnant. The singer appears in the latest Weight Watchers commercial to announced the happy news (see, below).
"I'm Jessica Simpson, and this year is all about new beginnings for me," she says video. "I lost over 50 pounds on Weight Watchers, and did not have to be perfect to do it. Being healthy has become a part of who I am, which is great timing, because I'm having another baby. I feel like I'm on top of the world."
Simpson also confirmed the news on Christmas Day via Twitter by posting a photo of her seven-month-old daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson, sitting in front of words written in sand: "Big Sis".
Due to her pregnancy Simpson will no longer be able to serve as a Weight Watchers ambassador. However after she gives birth the company says it will likely have her back on board. This flies in the face of rumours that the weight-loss company were upset about Jessica's pregnancy.
"[Simpson] will not be following the program during the pregnancy while her weight and well-being are monitored by her obstetrician, as is recommended for any woman during pregnancy," a rep for Weight Watchers says in a statement. "After she gives birth, Jessica and her doctor will decide when she may resume following the Weight Watchers program."
The 32-year-old singer and her fiancé, Eric Johnson, only welcomed their first child, Maxwell in May this year. For the April issue of Elle magazine she stripped off for the cover to be photographed with her baby bump exposed, pictured.
