Fred Perry teams up with No Doubt for a capsule collection
A hot new fashion collaboration has hit my radar this morning. It has been announced that Fred Perry is teaming up with No Doubt for a new collection. The Southern California band will release a capsule collection for the brand inspired by their punk-rock history.
The collection comprises of a slim-fit polo, v-neck sweater, and bomber jacket which incorporate No Doubt's red, gold, and green colour palette, including tartan patterns. This reflects the band's ska and reggae roots. The range is aimed at both men and women with the slim fit shirt due to be released in January, followed by the 1950s-style bomber and v-neck sweater in spring next year. With No Doubt's new album, Push and Shove, in need of some good publicity it couldn't be better timing for a collaboration. Plus we all know that Gwen Stefani has the design chops. She has carved out her own career in fashion after founding her label L.A.M.B. in 2004, which is regularly shown at New York Fashion Week.
Fred Perry have a background in working with musicians. They collaborated with Amy Winehouse for several seasons, releasing her final collection posthumously last December and donating proceeds to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
