Claire Danes has welcomed a new addition to her family - a baby boy! The actress and her actor husband, Hugh Dancy, have confirmed they have a new son whom they have named Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy.

Danes, who currently stars on the hit show Homeland, reportedly gave birth on Monday 17th December. Since confirming her pregnancy in July, Claire has kept tight-lipped about it all including keeping the sex of their first child a secret. However she did tell People that they are looking forward to "getting to know our new Dancy."

It seems Christmas has also come early for the 33-year-old professionally. Homeland was recently nominated for four Golden Globe awards including a nomination for best actress for Danes. If she wins it'll be the latest award for the mantelpiece. In September she received an Emmy for her role as the bipolar CIA agent Carrie Matheson.

Danes married her English-born actor husband in a private ceremony in France in September 2009. The couple met in 2007 on the set of little-known film, Evening, which also included an all-star cast consisting of Toni Collette, Vanessa Redgrace, Glenn Close, Meryl Streep and the late Natasha Richardson.
