It was delightful to see the lovely Cate Blanchett hit the red carpet again this time for the UK premiere of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The Aussie actress didn't disappoint either stepping out in a chic gown from Givenchy's Spring 2013 collection.

Perfect for a cold wintry evening, Cate seemed to channel Tilda Swinton in this white long-sleeved minimalist design which featured a high neck, metal detailing, side splits and an open back. She finished off her ensemble with a matching white Givenchy clutch bag and a pair of chunky Givenchy sandals comprising of a perspex, vinyl and wood. Very modern!

The premiere attracted a bevy of stars to Leicester Square, including royalty! Prince William flew solo as he attended the event without his pregnant wife by his side. Kate Middleton decided to stay at home still suffering from a bout of severe morning sickness. Speaking of the Duchess's absence the Duke of Cambridge told reporters she "would have loved to have been here if she could."

Ian McKellan also joined Cate and William at the premiere. Along with co-star Martin Freeman and Lord of the Rings' Dominic Monaghan.
