Ever since we featured them in our printed jeans gallery, we've been dreaming of owning a pair of J Brand brocade jeans. They come in various rises (the Maria high rise and the 811 mid rise being the easiest to find) and three colours; black, red and gold.

Unfortunately, they also come with a high price tag. In the UK, you're looking at around £300 a pair - My Wardrobe sells the black and gold for £310 and Harrods has limited stock for £299.

But hop over the pond (virtually) and you'll cut your costs in half. Buy the jeans from US stockists, and they'll cost you as little as £155. Shopbop will even ship them to the UK for free, so they most you'll have to pay on top is import tax / duty (around £50 according to this calculator). That still makes them around £100 cheaper than if you purchase from the UK.

So nice to know we're being ripped off. But if it's any consolation, they pay more for Topshop...
