Kate Upton lands her first Vogue cover - what do you think?
Reports of a possible Vogue cover starring Kate Upton has been swirling for a while. Now her first-ever cover for the fashion bible has been revealed and it is Vogue Italia which has scored the coup.
The buxom Sports Illustrated model oozes with old Hollywood style for the November issue of the magazine. For the gal who was once dismissed as "too obvious" by Victoria's Secret this is quite a triumph. Photographed by Steven Meisel, Upton's Vogue début has already got plenty of folks talking. On the subject of whether her so-called "glamour" model looks deserve to be on a Vogue cover or not has been hotly debated on forums such as The Fashion Spot.
"Huge disappointment. Looks like a high fashion version of a GQ cover," commented one fashionista.
While others seem in favour of a non-size-zero beauty gracing the fashion bible. "What a bombshell. It reminds me of 90s supermodels. Kate is snatching wigs and upsetting 'fashionistas' here and there, I love it," said another forum-dweller.
In the meantime, Kate recently tweeted a photo of herself taken during another high-end fashion shoot this time for an upcoming issue of V magazine. So it seems the industry only continues to grow in adoration for Upton and her curves even if fans don't necessarily agree.
