Is Drew Barrymore launching a line for Wal-Mart?
Here is a delicious rumour that is bound to whet the appetite of our pals over at Kiss and Makeup. Word on the street is that Drew Barrymore is eyeing off her own cosmetics line for Wal-Mart. The newly-married mother has reportedly created her own makeup line which will be exclusively distributed through Wal-Mart.
Sources at WWD claim that the actress has been working with Italian-based company Intercos which are a leading supplier of colour cosmetics, makeup and skincare. Drew has been acting as the face of Cover Girl since 2007 so she is no stranger to collaborating with beauty brands. Whispers say that with her Cover Girl contract soon coming to an end in January, she is now looking to go at it on her own. Despite the speculation, a spokesperson for Procter & Gamble was keeping tight-lipped.
"As a rule, we don't discuss the details of our contracts with our celebrities and ambassadors," they told WWD.
In addition to taking on the role as brand ambassador for Cover Girl, Barrymore also worked on the television campaign as co-creative director. Previous to that she also partnered with Lancôme makeup artist, Gucci Westman.
