Kate Middleton has been out of the fashion spotlight of late since her tour overseas, but when these pictures landed from her recent royal engagement a bit closer to home yesterday, our style radar was on full alert. The Duchess, who looked as happy as ever, wore an on trend ox-blood red suit from designer Paule Ka, showcasing one of our favourite looks we've seen on her yet.

Looking relaxed and care free, the Duchess of Cambridge's outfit had a more of a pared back feel compared to previous ones we've seen on her before, and we think it's a real step in the right direction for Kate's formal, yet young and of the minute style. The designer behind the matching two piece suit, Paule Ka, are known for their ladylike signatures and offers a short cut to Parisian chic. We suspect it won't be the last time we see Kate wearing one of their creations if their tailored shift dresses, matching separates and fresh-feel modern take on the traditional are anything to go by.
