Three ways to wear is back! After a short hiatus during our fashion week coverage, we're not happy to bring back one of our most popular features. If you're wondering how to justify that investment piece, or worried that a tricky trend item might be hard to pair up with the other stuff in your wardrobe, hopefully we can help. In 3 ways to wear, we show just how versatile even the most ridiculous fashion fads can be by styling them up three ways. Let us know your favourite!

This week, we're styling up the leather cutwork skirt (throughout) £95 at Oasis

Look one: Blue brocade

Blue jacquard shell top £18 Matalan
Goldtone bracelet watch £25 River Island
Bronze clutch bag with twig detail closure £210 Diane Von Furstenberg at Shopbop
Black double stone chunky ring £3.99 New Look
Blue platform shoe boots with studded toe £30 Chockers Shoes

- For a really bold going out look, team the skirt with an equally eyecatching top, in this case a brocade shell top with a leafy print that's very Autumnal. Add statement shoes for height and event more extra detail - just be careful of those studs! As the main elements of the outfit are very strong, keep your accessories small and simple. All you need is a little clutch in a co-ordinating colour, and a bit of wrist candy. A YSL style ring finishes the look.

Look two: Retro oxblood

Pussy bow sheer blouse £29.99 Mango
Burnished buckle waist belt in burgundy £3.15 Forever 21
Deco triangle earrings £7.50 Dorothy Perkins
Nico leather shoulder bag in Russet $395 Linea Pelle
Abbeywood brogue heel lace-up boots £59 Dune
Oversize stag ring £10 Boohoo

- Make the skirt work for a smart daytime even by teaming it with shades of deep burgundy and oxblood red. Gold and dark red look great together, especially if you have blonde hair. Cinch the waist with a thin leather belt, and slip your feet into some comfy, retro style footwear. A roomy, squishy leather bag carries all your Autumn essentials, and some cool jewels finish the look. All you need to add are some wool tights - either black or burgundy, to keep those legs warm.

Look three: Toasty in black

Black studded holdall £55 River Island
Extra fine merino rib polo neck jumper £19.90 Uniqlo
Beaded scarf necklace £25 Topshop
Gold toe-cap black ponyskin effect boots £65 Topshop
Angora blend tights by Pretty Polly £12.48 Tightsplease

- Dress down the skirt for cold weather with a simple black polo neck jumper - Uniqlo do the best at pocket money prices. Add thick tights and a pair of ankle boots, we love Topshop's cool textured ones with gold toe detail, but for something more casual a pair of chelsea boots (flat or heeled) would work just as well. Finish off with a big bag with some studs to play up the colour of the skirt, and one piece of jewellery. In this case, we've gone for a scarf-esque necklace that'll work around the chunky knit.
