With the weather taking a turn for the worse, I've thought of nothing but jumpers this week. There are so many beautiful chunky sweaters out there right now!

Over the last month or so knitwear has crept back onto my radar (ok, ok, it never left my radar) with quirky motifs, animal prints and embellished jumpers popping up all over the designer ranges. We've seen owls at Burberry, Tigers at Mulberry, comic book inspired prints from Philip Lim, spook-tacular bats and ghosts in J.W. Anderson's collection at Topshop...the trophy sweater is going to be bigger and better for Autumn/Winter 2012!

Some of our favourite celebrities have really embraced knitwear over the last few seasons, finding comfort in its easy styling and laid back cool vibe. Having recently spied ultra cool singer Lana Del Ray performing in an off the shoulder Budweiser jumper and our girl Alexa Chung wandering around Somerset House at London Fashion Week in a knit emblazoned with 1970, we guarantee you'll see plenty of motif jumpers popping up on the high street.

If you're not quite brave enough to try a bold motif, why not opt for an all over printed jumper, or an embellished sweater? You could try a furry number, a piece with panels, an extreme chunky knit, something off the shoulder, oversized, studded, cropped, frayed...the possibilities are endless.
