PPQ do Sixties Siren for SS13 at London Fashion Week
Day one of London Fashion Week drew to close with PPQ's Spring / Summer 2013 offering. One that always pulls in the crowds, there was an abundance of famous faces sat front row with the likes of Grace Woodward, Jameela Jamil, Dionne Bromfield and Laura Whitmore taking pride of place. So what was awaiting their watch?
The male and female mix designer duo are renowned for a cool underground feel, hence the even cooler celebrity fan base, (remember the bikes on the runway from last season) so it was with great anticipation we checked out their SS13 offer.
Hair channeled a very sixties vibe, think slick back fronts with large bouffant bouncing pony tails, as well as a chalky pink pearlescent glossy lip, which set the tone before you even cast an eye over the clothing. A real eclectic mix feel dominated the looks on offer, which Amy Molyneaux and Percy Parker describe as, "A slick, psychedelic feel. Pattern on pattern comes up against hardware and swim to creates a non-stop look, from beach to private jet."
There was a real, international girl on film type feel to the clothing with bold and bright paisley prints adorning mini dresses, jumpsuits and high necked swimwear. Separates came in this form too paired with sixties style skirts and gold glitter safari style shorts (yes, we meant mix when we said mix). This made way for nautical navy and white striped peices which, teamed with large hats, had a Pretty Woman type aesthetic. Stand out items included the sashaying jewel toned maxi dresses which flowed in chic sheers and multi-lengths.
Overall a real mixed bag over at PPQ for Spring / Summer 2013, but we think that's what they were going for anyway. Check it out below and let us know what you think in the comments!
