London Fashion Week SS2013: Felder Felder
Yesterday, it was the turn of fashion's favourite duo Annette and Dani Felder's to wow us at day one of London Fashion Week and we weren't disappointed. With their collection entitled 'Broken Wings Can Take You Anywhere', the Felder Felder sisters presented a more subtle and feminine feel than we've seen from them before with a focus on crop tops, dresses, trousers and skirts in simple, floaty silks and chiffons.
True to form, the girls added their signature edge to such pretty pieces dressing them on punky model Charlotte Free as well as pairing pieces with to-die-for square-toed chunky platforms, bucket bags (or Baileys bottle holsters) and cool cat-eye sunglasses. Oh and did we forget to mention? Songstress Kate Nash took to the catwalk stage and rocked out covering the Kink's 'All Day and All Of The Night'.
As the show went on, charming, subtle prints were twisted into the collection which at first glance looked like leopard print but closer inspection revealed broken butterfly wings, which happened to be a key source of inspiration for the collection. "We were inspired by real women, by our customers, not by an artificial and perfected ideal" the two designers said explaining the significance of the broken butterflies.
Soft, flower-like ruffles added another twist, which took influence from underwear brand Triumph, who were responsible for the high fashion ruffled underwear which was worn as outwear. Special kudos to the gorgeous purple swimsuit that left us lusting. For the time being, we'll just keep replaying the video below. Why don't you give it a watch too?
