London Fashion Week: Todd Lynn SS 2013
We know by now that a Todd Lynn show is not going to be pretty, feminine and floral. This is a man who loves structure, tailoring, and a touch of the gothic. The man himself looks like a rock star and his muse is an androgynous, confident, thoroughly modern woman.
This season, the Todd Lynn girl went on safari, but don't let that have you thinking it was time for beige short suits and mosquito net hats. With inspiration as wide ranging as Apocalypse Now and the novella Heart of Darkness, this was a much tougher safari look.
Nobody cuts a leg-lengthening trouser quite like Todd Lynn, and there were plenty of his slim, slightly bootcut designs in this collection, in shades of khaki, beige, lemon and (of course) black.
Elsewhere black leather pieces had slits at the shoulders / collarbone and softer, silkier evening dresses featured fringing around the midriff.
Seriously sexy shoes were provided by Christian Louboutin, in shades of nude, black and green, makeup was by Maybelline and the chic plaited hair came courtesy of Toni & Guy.
