Away from the hustle and bustle of Somerset House, in a wine bar just down the road, a bit of fashion magic was happening.

Those in the know (including InStyle's Natalie Hartley and Suzy Menkes) were leaving the tents to hunt down the laid-back but beautiful presentation from designer Alexis Barrell.

This is Alexis' third collection, and she's clearly getting into her stride with a very confident capsule wardrobe of sporty, slouchy jumpsuits, silk dresses, leather shorts, bomber jackets and pale denims.

So often these sports luxe driven collections end up looking cheap, but by sticking to luxurious fabrics and experimenting with delft prints and botanical inspiration, she kept the look high end. The blue print dress with waist panel was particularly beautiful, as were the silk tees with flower illustrations emblazoned across the front.

Our favourite piece, however, was the deep blue silk jumpsuit, which was designed with multiple zips to allow it to be worn a number of ways. If you're going to invest in a designer piece, you may as well get your money's worth, and this gives you plenty of options - without looking naff when it's worn all together.
