Kristen Stewart's 'screw you' outfit at the On The Road premiere
Some might say Kristen Stewart had a lot to prove at her first big red carpet appearance since the 'scandal' of her affair with married film director Rupert Sanders. Last night she joined co-stars Garrett Hedlund and Kirsten Dunst at the Toronto Film Festival for the premiere of 'On The Road'.
You could have forgiven the Twilight star for shying away from the cameras, or dressing in something pale, girly and romantic in an attempt to distance herself from the vampy image that her personal life has given her.
Instead, she chose to go a more dramatic route, in a dress - and hairstyle - that embraced her 'naughty' new image. Sure, the Zuhair Murad dress is flower-strewn, but the sheer panels, fitted shape and dark background make it more gothic than girly, and the super-sharp straightened hair is a departure from her usual rock chick, tousled (often unbrushed) locks.
This is arguably the best Kristen has ever looked, and for that, we love her. Being so bold in the face of criticism take guts, but the ridiculous double standards surrounding the whole incident (with reports that Kristen lost her job on the Snow White & The Huntsmen sequel, while Sanders gets to keep his) deserved a statement, 'screw you' outfit.
Regardless of what you think about her personal life, you have to admit she pulled it out the bag with this look. High fives to her brave stylist!
