I was There - Why West London wins my heart
I've lived all over London in the last ten years, but have slowly migrated West as time has gone by. I'm definitely a West End girl. Cue some 90s boyband music (sorry, Pet Shop Boys)!
This is why I'm joining Team West this Summer.
With all eyes on London in 2012, Westfield (which has huge shopping centres on both sides of the city) is encouraging everyone to sign up and support their team - East or West. There is, of course, something in it for you - if you take part you can win your share of £25,000 of prepaid Visa cards to spend at Westfield.
What I love about London is its diversity. I live in South West London, so my version of West London is probably very different to the experiences of someone living in Ladbroke Grove, Ealing, Shepherd's Bush or wherever else. The joy of this city is that it changes from one street to another, and every type of lifestyle is represented no matter what postcode you're in.
But, as much as it pains me to admit it, my look probably does echo my locale. I dress safe, pretty and feminine. The boutiques in my local area are ore or less made for me, stocking pretty dresses and cutesy accessories aplenty (think Joy, Oliver Bonas and Lavish Habit). I like a mixture of high street finds, a few bohemian pieces, a touch of vintage and the odd designer accessory. My favourite designers (like Matthew Williamson, Alice Temperley) are more likely to be found in Notting Hill than Brick Lane. I like prints, dresses, big hair and sparkly shoes. This is a peek at the kind if thing you might find in my West London wardrobe...
