Victoria's Secret postpones London store opening
For all of you eager Victoria's Secret shoppers, you'll have to wait a bit longer for the first London store to open. The US lingerie label has postponed the opening of its début UK store which was due to open at the end of the month.
Originally slated to open on July 25, the first standalone Victoria's Secret UK store on Bond Street was due to open to coincide with the start of the London Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. Victoria Secret has planned a 16,500 sq ft space which will cover three floors of the Bond Street building. It will be located on the corner of Brook Street which once occupied Pringle of Scotland. A second store was also set to open at Stratford's Westfield Shopping Centre.
While no reason for the delay or a new date has been given, Vogue UK reports that a VS spokesperson has revealed the stores won't open in July at all.
The buzz back in May was that the underwear company was also planning a big, fancy event to help launch the stores. Rumours even suggested this would include the VS Angels arriving into the British capital by their pink customised plane. I wonder if this will still be on the cards...
