Many were crushed in 2010 when Brian Reyes shuttered his ready-to-wear collection, which included a cult-favorite lingerie line celebrities gobbled up. Now Calvin Klein has tapped the well-rounded designer as vice president and head of global design for their iconic Calvin Klein Underwear brand. Seems like a match made in lacy heaven.

"The underwear category is unique in that it is a fundamental basic but has so much possibility to be intriguing, sexy and desirable. Calvin Klein in particular has such incredible history and brand power," Reyes told WWD.

Reyes himself has a pretty incredible history, as well. If you're not familiar with his name, you're certainly well versed in many of the lines he has worked with. Most recently consulting for TSE Cashmere, Reyes got his taste for lingerie as director of licensing at Oscar de la Renta. He has also designed for Polo Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors.

Calvin Klein Underwear is excited about the eye for apparel that Reyes will bring to the operation.

"We certainly have plenty of underwear category experts in the house ... but with that level of creativity in terms of how he sees things, it's a wonderful dynamic," said Chief Creative Officer Bob Mazzoli.
