The Duchess of Cambridge plays table tennis in Hobbs summer dress
The Duchess of Cambridge (aka Kate Middleton) joined her husband Prince William and her brother-in-law Prince Harry for a spot of sport this afternoon as they attended the launch of a new training project in South East London.
As an ambassador for Team GB and the Paralympics GB 2012, we knew it wouldn't be too long before we saw Kate dabbling in a little sporting competition again only this time it wasn't hockey at the Olympic Park, it was table tennis! K-Mid looked exceptionally pretty in a linen 'Wessex' dress from Hobbs. With it's classic cut, the £35 grey and white checked dress (which was reduced from £119 in the sale and is now sold out everywhere!) suited Kate's slender frame to a tea, and I love that the Duchess added a little extra detail with the woven waist belt; it definitely made the whole outfit feel fresh, modern, and more age appropriate.
As well as taking part in table tennis, Catherine also dribbled a football whilst still wearing her cream Pied a Terre espadrilles (a girl after our own heart) and learnt how to judge a judo match. The royal trio appeared to be in fantastic spirits as they enjoyed the sunshine and the company of the young sporting enthusiasts, with the Duke of Cambridge giving a humorous insight into his wife's sporting abilities. During a speech in which William described himself as "a giraffe on ice" on the football pitch, the young Prince jokingly added, "Catherine, on the other hand, with a tennis racquet or a hockey stick is something to behold and be aware of."
Kate finished off her ensemble with a pair of small pearl earrings, her engagement ring, and yet another flawless blow dry.
