Best dressed at the Teen Choice Awards 2012
The Teen Choice Awards is one of those special star-studded events that never fails to put a smile on my face, and last nights ceremony at Universal City in California was no exception. Attended by actors, singers and entertainers of all ages, the Teen Choice Awards 2012 was filled with familiar faces from Taylor Swift to the Twilight crowd, and the fashion was diverse, fun, and exciting as always.
Zoeey Deschanel looked stunning in a structured cobalt blue dress from Monique Lhuillier's Resort 2013 collection, which she teamed with a diamond patterned Jimmy Choo clutch and cute bow embellished heels. Thankfully, the New Girl actress didn't reach for the tights this time around!
Plenty of other celebrities opted to walk the plush pink carpet in block coloured dresses, including Justin Beiber's girlfriend Selena Gomez (who celebrated her birthday on stage with a cake) and Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev, who looked incredible in a teal sculptured dress by J. Mendel. The silky fitted number, which featured a bustier style top and a thigh high split, was definitely one of the hottest looks of the evening, although Nina played it down a little with simple makeup, glowing skin, and a braided crown on top of her sleek hair. Rivalling Nina for sex appeal was Glee star Lea Michele, who turned up to the event in a tiny textured silver dress from the Atelier Versace Spring 2012 collection. The shimmering piece was matched with a pair of clunky metallic Versace pumps and a sun-kissed tan - perhaps a little too va-va-voom for the Teen Choice Awards, Lea?
22-year-old Taylor Swift looked beautiful as always in a 'Taylor typical' neutral Grecian style Maria Lucia Hohan dress, which detailed a rolled waistline and a layered bustier. The singer, who picked up 5 of the prestigious surfboard awards on Sunday evening, finished the look with some enviable Prada peep-toes, an Edie Parker pearlescent clutch and a pair of pretty rose-drop earrings.
Kristen Stewart rocked her trademark boyish style with aplomb in a pair of skinny leather leggings, a loose fitting Fluxus t-shirt and a gorgeous blue patterned blazer by Roberto Cavalli. It looks as though the Twilight star has finally found that happy place in-between her laid back everyday look and her rock chick red carpet style - hurrah! As usual, Kristen's makeup was minimal aside from a smoky blue eye, but the Twilight star opted for something a little different in the hair department. Kristen swept her typically messy locks to the left, adding a few curls in the front and a plait in the back on the right.
Host of the evening, Demi Lovato tried out a number of different hair styles (and outfits) over the course of the awards show, going from bondage wrapped super high, super long ponytail with pale pink tips, to messy shoulder length curls with blue dip-dyed ends. The X-Factor USA judge started the night in an edgy Falguni & Shane Peacock dress, which boasted a gorgeous geometric pattern, leather capped sleeves, and a feathered hem. Platform Christian Louboutin's, heavy kohl eyes and a black manicure completed the futuristic look.
Last but not least is 34-year-old Zoe Saldana, who joined Taylor Lautner on stage in a youthful outfit by Jonathan Saunders. The Avatar actress showed off her incredible figure in a patterned cropped top and matching skirt, which had been shortened and given a puffball effect. Zoe finished the look with a lust-worthy pair of aqua satin Louboutin's, a fresh face, and simple up-do.
