Stella McCartney to release mid-range lingerie line
Busy bee Stella McCartney is getting ready to launch a new lingerie line, according to the New York Times' T magazine. The British designer has revealed she will release a lower-priced, mid-range of lingerie this August.
Named simply 'Stella,' the collection of everyday underwear will feature five bra styles, including underwire, low plunge cups, a strapless style and a seamless, underwire-free style in colours such as electric blue, python, blush pink and black. Created from organic cotton and recycled metal, for the strap's gold Stella-encrusted rings, the collection comprises of knickers in lace, mesh and satin priced at $26. Bras are priced at $55.
"Well-made lingerie is key," McCartney told the Times. "Feeling constricted by one's underwear just isn't my thing; you need to rely on the quality. It has to fit, function and do its job first and foremost."
Stella's passion for environmentally friendly fashion runs deep. She has already designed an eco-friendly sunglasses line for Spring/Summer 2012 which were made from acetate plastic and 54 percent natural resources.
I am sure the news of McCartney launching a more affordable underwear line will be music to many ears. I wonder if her loyal celebrity following which includes Liv Tyler, Kate Hudson, and Gwyneth Paltrow will jump on board her new eco-friendly lingerie.
