Rita Ora tells ASOS, "Kanye West is my fashion icon"
How We Do (Party) girl Rita Ora has landed herself the cover of ASOS magazine, and boy does she look fierce!
The 21-year-old singer is kitted out in a whole host of truly awesome and slightly out there pieces throughout the editorial in the September issue, including a heavily embellished 'baroque and roll' jacket, which was custom-made for Miss Ora. Although you won't be able to get your hands on that special jacket, fans and ASOS customers will be able to purchase the rest of the clothing used in the photo shoot come Autumn, which includes a slouched camo jacket, a bejewelled gold shirt, a woven leather cap with cut out details, and an embroidered fitted jumpsuit.
According to the Daily Mail, Rita (who counts Rihanna as one of her best friends and Jay-Z as her boss) told the magazine that fashion is like art to her. "I love how clothes can change the way you feel", she said. However, the British star admits that it hasn't always been plain sailing, and that there's one fashion haven she no longer has access to - her sisters wardrobe. "I always used to wear her clothes. She hated me borrowing them and would get so mad. The worst was when she had a white pair of jeans and I ruined them. I wasn't allowed to wear her clothes after that."
Although I love the feisty cover, I think my favourite interview snippet that has emerged has to be this: when asked whos style she admires, cheeky Rita reportedly announced, "I'd love to be the female Kanye. He's one of my fashion icons. He doesn't believe me! But I think he's cool and effortless."
