newburberryadcampaign2012.jpgBack in May, we told you that Burberry was set to launch another star-studded ad campaign for their Autumn/Winter 2012 collection, and if you didn't catch the first release of images at the start of June, then here's the latest to feast your eyes on! Isn't it stunning?

Burberry's Creative Director, Christopher Bailey explained at the time that he and photographer Mario Testino wanted to "play with everything that's at the heart of the Burberry world - celebrating our brand and London through imagery, film, music, weather and our iconic outerwear, all in a very poetic and British way", and the pair have certainly managed that. The 'Runway to Reality' adverts, featuring actress Gabriella Wilde and singer Roo Panes, are shot in black and white at the Old Naval College, and depict an almost Victorian view of London, with rain and fog providing a gloomy, atmospheric backdrop. Each ad is whimsically named, with typically quaint titles such as, "the cobbled streets", "the gentleman", and "shelter from the storm".

I have to admit, when I first saw the Burberry Prorsum AW12 show at London Fashion Week, I knew the campaign would be something special, but it's even more dramatic and beautiful than I had imagined. It's also still causing a huge stir on the Internet, despite going live a few weeks ago across their social platforms such as Youtube, Facebook, and their website. The British brand certainly knows how to command and utilise its social media; they released an accompanying campaign image entitled "The Arrival" (pictured above) just two hours ago, and it's already received over 12,500 'likes'! Ahh, the power of fashion.
