Myleene Klass turns designer for Littlewoods
After Marks & Spencer ditched its star-studded ad campaigns, we didn't expect to see much of Myleene Klass, but low and behold, the 34-year-old presenter is the latest celebrity face to join the Littlewoods crew!
As well as becoming the new brand ambassador for the UK retailer, Myleene has also designed a 24-piece Autumn/Winter collection that will be featured alongside designs by other celebrities such as Coleen Rooney, Fearne Cotton, Holly Willougby and Jameela Jamil. The mum of two showcased her first women's fashion range at a cocktail-fuelled event at St Martins Lane hotel last night, and has so far received positive reactions from the press.
According to Entertainmentwise, the collection is designed to 'reflect and compliment the many different roles of a busy working mum', and the price bracket of £30 - £150 seems fairly reasonable. Although almost half of the collection is built on dresses that feel a touch too glamorous for work-wear, there's no denying that there are some beautiful pieces, and it looks as though Myleene genuinely had some input when it came to the design process.
Speaking at the presentation yesterday evening, Myleene said, "It's been wonderful to sit in the design room, to draw up these clothes, to find exciting patterns, exciting colours; clothes for the beach, clothes for glamorous occasions, clothes for running the kids to school." She continued, "Clothes for people like yourself, myself, busy working mums who just want their clothes to do the job that they're supposed to do. I've just done my job in my clothes!"
Myleene described the move to create her own range as "a natural progression", adding "this has just been a dream come true to create with the Littlewoods family". Awww.
