LOVE magazine taps Downton Abbey stars for covers
Fans of the hit television series Downton Abbey get ready to see your favourite stars grace the covers of LOVE magazine's eighth issue. Although the pairing seems rather unlikely, the inclusion of the cast on the cover of the fashion magazine was, in fact, all thanks to Marc Jacobs. According to editor, Katie Grand it was Jacobs who influenced her to by insisting that that she watch the show.
"I really wasn't interested in Downton Abbey at all," Grand told Grazia UK in an interview. "But around September last year Marc Jacobs kept saying I'd love it and that I had to watch it. So I tried watching the Christmas special and couldn't get into it. But then I was ill in January and started at the beginning and became addicted. I've now watched it three times over!"
Downton Abbey's Jessica Brown Findlay (who plays Lady Sybil Crawley), Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary), and Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith) were each styled by Grand to wear clothing by Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. With their pale faces, the actresses sport dramatic make-up and colourful frizzy wigs. A fourth cover starring Rob James-Collier (Thomas, the footman) has also been released.
Titled "A Costume Drama," the eighth issue of LOVE magazine will hit newsstands on July 30. Want to get some of the Downtown Abbey LOVE front cover style? Shop the girls' designers below.
