Update: Kristen Stewart *did* cheat; issues apology to Robert Pattinson
Updated 26/7/12: Sadly it seems the reports are true. Yesterday we posted about the news that Kristen Stewart had been caught by the cameras cheating on Robert Pattinson with a married man twice her age. Now the Twilight starlet has been forced to apologise for her romantic dalliance with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders, 41.
"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardised the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," she said in a statement.
Even though the film wrapped months ago, Kristen and Rupert were spotted just last week getting cosy together, which prompted US Weekly to publish pictures of the pair kissing. To make matters worse, Sanders is married to British model, Liberty Ross, with whom he has two children. Even more awful is the fact that Liberty played Kristen's mother (Snow White's mother) in the recent film.
He was also forced to issue an apology to his wife and family: "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."
So far there has been no word from Robert or his publicist.
