Top designers, editors, even royalty came out to fete Raf Simons as he showed his debut collection for Christian Dior Haute Couture today. By all accounts, including our own, it was a show in feminine simplicity with classic Dior shapes mingling with sleek, modern tailoring.

The front row included such luminaries as Princess Charlene of Monaco, Marc Jacobs, Allegra and Donatella Versace, Anna Wintour with daughter Bee Schaffer, Anna Dello Russo, Marion Cotillard, Natalia Vodianova with boyfriend Antoine Arnault, whose father Bernard accompanied the princess. Charlene is likely eager to impress the fashion community after a lackluster interview with Vogue and apparently getting on Cathy Horyn's bad side. Attending the biggest couture show of the season on the arm of the LVMH boss is likely to help!

It was interesting to note that Anna and Bee were both wearing the same neutral hued heels they wore the previous day to the Versace show though each chose a much more subdued outfit for Dior. Anna Dello Russo was also fairly subdued, given the getups she is prone to, and Marion Cotillard seemed to have the most decadent outfit off the runway.
