The team at Alexander McQueen have just released the label's Autumn / Winter 2012 womenswear campaign images.

Shot by British fashion photographer David Sims and featuring model Suvi Koponen, the mixture of colour and black and white images capture the textural shapes of the collection, which was inspired by the forest floor; mushroom and funghi in smoky whites with domed caps and 'rippling underbellies', fading into darker shades and rich red.

The images are typical McQueen - strong and bold with an emphasis on dramatic shapes and artistic, modern detail. The shapes are described as 'overblown', and when shown on the catwalk they increased in size and volume as the collection progressed. Unsurprisingly, some of the strongest shapes have been used in the campaign images, showing Sarah Burton's at her most creative.
