First look: Kristen Stewart for Balenciaga's first fragrance campaign
My colleague Andrea has been busy over at our sister blog, Kiss and Makeup, posting about Kristen Stewart's new ad campaign for Balenciaga. The Twilight actress stars in the campaign for the fashion house's first fragrance, Florabotanica. Wearing one of Nicolas Ghesquière's floral print structured dresses, Kristen stars in the futuristic floral ad surrounded by a painted garden and a giant-sized bottle of the scent.
"When I first stood there, I was like, 'OK, do you want me to show the curves of the dress? Do you want me to stand like this? Like that?' And they were like, 'Just be comfortable,'" she told People magazine.
"There is something natural about it," Stewart explained to WWD. "It's very alive. I think that as a young person wearing it - considering that I've never worn a scent - it kind of puts you on this level of, like, 'Whoa, check me out.' "
Photographed by Steven Meisel, Florabotanica is the second major fragrance Ghesquière has worked on after Balenciaga Paris, which launched in 2010.
"It's more narrative, kind of a fantasy," he said. "So when I thought about the fragrance and the character that would visit that garden, I thought Kristen could be the perfect beauty and the perfect personality to represent that."
Balenciaga's Florabotanica is due to hit beauty counters in September. Keep an eye out!
