Fifty Shades of Grey inspires Marc New York ad campaign
It didn't take long for Fifty Shades of Grey to translate over into the fashion world. For his first-ever campaign Andrew Marc has used the bestselling erotic novel trilogy as inspiration for his label Marc New York.
Photographed in the Meatpacking District of New York, the campaign stars Celebrity Apprentice contestant and Miss Universe winner Dayana Mendoza, and former Scottish rugby player Thom Evans. The pair engage in a stare-off with Mendoza playing the Ana character in a zipped down dress, and Evans (a.k.a. Christian Grey) standing opposite her wearing nothing but a towel. Saucy!
Set to debut in the September and October issues of Glamour and People StyleWatch magazine, the adverts will also run as a digital and outdoor campaign. Marc New York makes men's and women's clothing, bags, eyewear and shoes.
Further proof that Fifty of Shades of Grey is entering the fashion world. Just last week bespoke tailors Norton & Townsend launched a Fifty Shades of Grey-inspired collection which comprises of a whopping 200 shades of grey suits for men. According to the Daily Mail, the tailor's said they "wanted to tap into the women who have fallen for Christian Grey's dapper and suave sense of style, and all the men in envy of the fictional character's suited and booted look." Erm.. okie dokie.
