A couple of weeks ago CQ's Jess (above, with Girl Meets Dress founder Anna Bance) attended MyDaily Presents... a panel discussion about the future of fashion. MyDaily's editor Libby Banks hosted, putting questions to a panel that included designer Mary Katrantzou, Love magazine's Alex Fury, and fashion journos / bloggers Sasha Wilkins (Liberty London Girl) and Melanie Rickey (Fashion Editor at Large).

Here's a little snippet of the panel discussing that oft-asked question - what is the role of print media now we have such great access to fashion online?

So often panels that discuss 'the future' are made up of really young, new online talent, so it was intriguing to hear the thoughts of more established writers like Sasha and Melanie, who both started in print media before the internet was a widely-used tool. Some of the old guard are sniffy about online, but both of these brilliant women have completely embraced blogging and digital publishing in recent years with great success. Sasha even said "the world has changed to such a degree that I can't even remember what it was like to work as a journalist before I had access to the internet."

It was really interested to hear such a varied group of knowledgable fashion insiders discuss so many interesting style-related topics. From catwalk copies to the way the internet has changed the fashion 'cycle', they touched on some really interesting (and controversial) topics. You can read more and see more vids over at MyDaily.
