emmastonegangstersquad2012.jpgAs well as being spoilt for choice when it comes to costume dramas this year (Anna Karenina and The Great Gatsby are high on our must watch list) it looks as though we're about to get a little hot under the collar, 1940's style! Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer has brought Crazy, Stupid, Love co-stars Ryan Gosling (swoon) and Emma Stone (sigh) back together for Gangster Squad, a film noir flick filled with good cops, bad guys, mobs and molls. Amazing!

Set in LA in the late 1940's, Emma plays Grace Faraday - girlfriend of Brooklyn born mob king, Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) and the object of LAPD cop, Jeremy Wooter's (Gosling) attention. Grace certainly looks a lot more intense, and dare I say it, more exciting than her Spiderman character, Gwen Stacy, don't you think? I can't wait to see if all that 1940's glamour will extend to the red carpet when it comes to working the promotional trail; I'm already having visions of Gosling and Stone looking a million dollars at the premieres...

In the latest oh-so-stylish movie poster, Emma and the rest of the cast look flawless. From the boy's sharp suits, slick hair, braces and hats to Emma's femme fatale red dress, the costuming couldn't be more enviable. The 23-year-old Vogue cover girl will no doubt inspire everyone to work their best 'damsel in distress' look this autumn, and I'll certainly be encouraging my boyfriend to don his best suit on a daily basis. If you want to recreate Emma's fabulously Forties outfit, check out our best picks below - we can't guarantee that Ryan Gosling will prop himself up on the bar and offer to take you to bed, but you'll definitely turn a few heads.

Gangster Squad is released in the UK on the 9th November. Watch the trailer after the jump!
