Elle Macpherson and H&M won't return for Fashion Star season two
It has been confirmed that NBC's designer reality show, Fashion Star, has been given the green light for a second but without its host, Elle Macpherson. Nevertheless the Australian supermodel will stay on as executive producer while she gets to work on a new reality series called Goddess With Guts
"I have been involved with Fashion Star from the beginning, and am very proud to see it come to life, not only in America but globally," Elle told the New York Post. "The show is in great hands, and although I will not be hosting this season, I will still be very involved [and] will be reviewing the format for the upcoming season."
The show will also return minus one of its co-sponsors, H&M, which reportedly no longer sees the show as a "good fit." Last season, H&M joined Macy's and Saks as one of three retailers featured on the programme.
"H&M is continuously looking for new and unique collaborations and we were thrilled to have partnered with NBC for the first season of Fashion Star," said a spokesperson for the retailer. "We have decided not to participate in the second season. It was exciting to work with all of the talented people involved including the designers whose winning clothes sold out weekly. We wish Fashion Star success and will be sure to tune in for season two."
While there are rumours that the show may take on a new format, it is believed that mentors Nicole Richie, John Varvatos and new mum Jessica Simpson, will all remain on board for the second series.
