Bulgari taps Isabella Rossellini for new handbag collection
Proving age is just a number is Isabella Rossellini, who is fronting a new advertising campaign for Bulgari. The 60-year-old actress appears in a new campaign to promote Bulgari's new Isabella Rossellini bags for autumn and spring.
The project reunited her with photographer Annie Leibovitz, whose acquaintance dates back to 1986 when she was famously photographed with her former flame director David Lynch, who appeared almost completely covered by a black turtleneck. Both in that image and in this new advert for Bulgari, Isabella appears wearing a dark-coloured sleeveless strap with one strap falling down.
The campaign is inspired by the work of British painter Meredith Frampton, who is renowned for his neorealist, surrealist portraits and still lifes. The daughter of screen icon, Ingrid Bergman, is captured by Leibovitz with her "legs crossed on a black capitonné sofa, shod in red pumps, clutching a red calf-leather tote with a red enamel closure and a rock crystal twist lock."
The campaign which has been styled by George Cortina, and was photographed in Leibovitz's New York studio, will be in the September issue of Vanity Fair.
