Wedge sneakers have gone from a jokey fashion victim anomaly to an actual trend that fashionable people wear. In Lucky Magazine Alexandra Willinger, associate buyer for ultra hip and fashionable New York boutique Intermix, expressed her genuine love for the trend.

"I hope the wedge-sneaker trend never ends!" she said in the mag. "I've gotten used to wearing high-tops to work." In the piece she wears a white and pink pair of See by Chloe sneakers with skinny jeans, a tank and funky blazer.

The pair featured here is the Ash Black Leather Buckle Wedges, £145.00 at Urban Outfitters. They're kind of a tough, less sweet take on the style. They feature multi-buckle design and side zip closure finished with contrast mid-sole and toe cap.

These heels are about 10 cm but the style can range from everywhere from a barely there wedge (this perhaps looks most incongruous, as if the wearer hasn't fully committed to the look) to sky high heels.

They're probably no more comfortable than other wedge shoes, so I'm not sure there's any advantage there. But what do you think?
