Victoria Beckham on why fashion is great in Britain
At this time of great national pride, what better time is there to celebrate British fashion. Victoria Beckham stars in a new promotional video for the This is GREAT Britain campaign, in which she discusses why the UK is a great place to live, work and play.
Wearing one of her own corseted designs, Beckham talks about the creativity that thrives in Britain and why she has based in her business in London. "I want to empower women, I want to make women feel good about themselves and for me to be able to achieve the quality that I want to give my customer, I have to do that in London," she said. "My brand is British, my team are all British, you can feel the energy as you're driving through London."
Recalling one of her earliest fashion memories, the former Spice Girl mentions that one of her favourite places to visit when she was younger was Camden Market.
"'I remember when I was younger I used to love going to Camden Market on a Sunday, the energy, the atmosphere, it's really multi-cultural. That is more inspiring than anything."
Beckham also paid tribute to some of the UK's most iconic designers. "In Britain we have some incredible brands, when you look at Burberry, Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Mackintosh, Hunter - we have really cool, quality British brands and I'm really proud to consider myself one of those."[via Daily Mail]
