Kate Middleton in lacy Alexander McQueen for Queen's Diamond Jubilee service
Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee celebrations came to exciting conclusion yesterday at Buckingham Palace. Not only was the weather better, so were the crowds as hundreds of thousands people flocked to the Mall on the final day of what has been a truly memorable bank holiday.
Her Majesty was once again surrounded by members of the royal family including Prince Charles, Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall and her grandchildren including Princes William and Harry. The only senior member of her family to miss the event was Prince Philip who was still recovering in hospital from a bladder infection. The Queen looked wonderful in yet another Angela Kelly ensemble, comprising of a mint green coat with embroidered flowers and chiffon lapel, matching hat, and white gloves.
The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out in yet another stunning ensemble for the service which was held at St. Paul's Cathedral, followed by the royal's traditional appearance and wave from the Buckingham Palace balcony. It was yet another Alexander McQueen number for Kate Middleton, who opted for a blush-coloured bespoke lace dress. Featuring a boat neckline, the knee-length frock included long sleeves, a lace overlay, and a satin waistband sash. Very feminine! She matched her dress with an elegant nude beaded cocktail hat with silk tulle, veiling and organza discs designed by Jane Taylor. Kate stuck to her favourite LK Bennett nude pumps and wore her hair in a stylish half up 'do. To finish off, she complimented the blush pink of her waistband sash to match her Prada clutch perfectly. Can this girl do no wrong fashionably-speaking?
Overall, the Duchess has donned three Alexander McQueen pieces over the duration of the Jubilee celebrations. These have included the red pleated number which she wore to the River Pageant on Sunday, a dark McQueen shearling jacket which she choose for the Queen's Jubilee concert and now this latest ensemble for the Jubilee service.
