Karl Lagerfeld wax figure

In case you missed the memo, this week a wax figure of Karl Lagerfeld was unveiled in Germany. The Panoptikum Museum in Hamburg is now home to a wax sculpture of the Chanel designer. So there won't be any immediate visits to Madame Tussauds any time soon!

The waxwork took sculptor Saskia Ruth and her team an entire year to complete. Saskia is said to have paid special attention to Lagerfeld's "typical facial expression, his clothes, and his hairstyle." I'd say spot on - I mean check out that white hair, the signature vampire style suit, accessories, and trademark glove.

If you happen to stop by the Panoptikum, don't forget to check out the waxworks of Robbie Williams, Harry Potter and King Henry VIII. Also amongst the 130-year-old collection are sculptures of Marilyn Monroe, Pope Benedict XVI, and Princess Diana.

Now all Karl needs is a Baptiste Giabiconi body double as well as some Chanel-clad models to join him at the museum. I wonder what the always outspoken designer would have to say about his wax likeness?
