New York set the scene for the launch of Chanel's The Little Black Jacket exhibition overnight. Karl Lagerfeld was joined by an endless supply of models, socialites and fashion identities at a party in Soho. The event follows a launch of the exhibit in Tokyo in March, which saw the label then go on to unveil a digital exhibition to pay homage to the iconic clothing piece.

Featuring 113 photos of celebrities wearing black jackets which were taken by Lagerfeld, the exhibit will be open to the public from 8th to 15th June. It has also spawned a book, The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's Classic Revisited, which has been co-authored by Carine Roitfeld. It was no surprise then that the former French Vogue editor-in-chief was in attendance, along with her daughter Julia Restoin-Roitfeld who recently gave birth to her first child. The book will launch later this year.

Meanwhile at the launch party, Lagerfeld welcomed supermodel Linda Evangelista who wore a black fitted blazer with a draped white skirt, white leggings, and a pair of Chanel ballerina flats. Other famous faces to show their support of the exhibit included Karolina Kurkova, Crystal Renn, Lilly Collins, Poppy Delevigne, Lily Donaldson, Leigh Lezark and sisters Alexandra and Theodora Richards.
