JW Anderson set to launch Topshop collection
One of Alexa Chung's favourite designers, JW Anderson, is set to launch a collection for Topshop this September. The young designer's collection will comprise of jersey, denim and knitwear - which is known most for. He has also chosen other items such as pencils, memory sticks, vintage magazines, photography books, and rubik's cubes to make up the rest of the collection.
"I am very excited to collaborate with Topshop. It gives me the opportunity to reach a much wider audience with my designs," said Anderson. "It has always been very important to me that my collections are made accessible to anyone interested in fashion and design."
Last year Anderson was nominated for the Emerging Talent award by the British Fashion Council. He is also set to show his menswear collection at the inaugural London Collections. This isn't the first time that Anderson has collaborated with Topshop. He created a T-shirt to celebrate the high street brand's tenth anniversary of its NEWGEN initiative. This new collaboration will be the his first ever ready-to-wear collection for Topshop.
Described as the "best of" of all of his designs, Topshop creative director, Kate Phelan said it is "sort of must have wardrobe of covetable pieces by this unique designer."
A second collection from Anderson is slated for early 2013.
