At the end of May, we were lucky enough to attend the American InterContinental University Graduate Fashion Show at The Old Truman Brewery on London's Brick Lane. This is because our very own Catwalk Queen, Editor-in-chief, Gemma Cartwright was picked to offer her expertise and judge the future fashionistas.

AIU is a central London private international university offering degrees in Fashion Marketing, Fashion Marketing & Design, Interior Design and Visual Communication, and after years of hard work these designers and marketers were ready for recognition.

We were greeted with mini pies and glasses of fruity fizz, which we could enjoy whilst nosing through the exhibition showcasing various marketing student projects. Zandra Rhodes' pink locks floated about the busy crowd. We took our seats front row (my first FROW as an intern!) and the lights dimmed for the first of the fifteen student showcases.

As the music pumped and the blue steel poses hit the catwalk, our eyes fell upon fashion's new innovators.

Kenneth Haynes featured quirky headpieces and a show-stopping Marchesa-esque sparkling catsuit which wowed us to say the least, whilst Padraic Cowley's traditional Burberry feel came across strongly through his thick, high quality, cosy knits and tailored wool. Not to forget, the insane works of Johnny Wang who combined clear plastic, fur and wellington boots; very Gareth Pugh.

The night ended on a high, with Zandra Rhodes presenting awards to Nazish Kalani, Katie Beglan, Lizzy Australis, Lovisa Sheen, Padraic Cowley and Johnny Wang for their exceptional efforts.
