Who is excited for the new version of The Great Gatsby to hit cinemas? With the iconic 1974 adaptation, which starred Mia Farrow and Robert Redford and is one of my all-time favourite films, I am more than curious to know whether Baz Luhrmann's 2012 remake will fulfil expectations. Here is our first real look at the upcoming flick with the first trailer hitting the Web.

Starring a string of famous faces, i.e. Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan, this new film looks set to include a whole heap of jaw-dropping 1920s costumes. In typical Luhrmann style the trailer shows us a tonne of over-the-top sets and costumes. Look out for lots of beading, ostrich feathers, sequins, dapper suits, fringing, accessories and embellishments. It is, as expected, a rather big budget glitzed up adaptation of the novel - in a very Moulin Rouge, Romeo and Juliet way. All ready I can spot so many differences between the new one and the Farrow/Redford version. But whether it will live up to the hype remains to be seen.

Of course it's not just the two leading stars who feature in this new film adaptation based on the classic novel by F.Scott Fitzgerald. It also includes Isla Fisher, Tobey Maguire, Joel Edgerton and Aussie model Gemma Ward - check out a photo of her on set here.
