Stella McCartney to get her first Adidas standalone store
Stella McCartney is set to get her first standalone Adidas store. The British designer will launch her Adidas shop next to her recently opened mainline and children's store in London's Brompton Cross district.
The store will offer the Adidas by Stella McCartney active-wear line, the Stella Gold collection, including pieces from the Team GB Olympic lifestyle collections, and a replica collection of the kit that McCartney has designed for Team Great Britain to wear at this year's London Olympics.
"[It is] an amazing way to finish off the full voice of the brand," McCartney said. "It's just an exciting thing to see if this kind of model can work for Adidas and us. This store is a real celebration of what we have been building for the last eight years together with Adidas, and hopefully it is going to be the home for women to go to and find everything for their sports [while] not having to sacrifice their style."
The 800-square-foot store features two floors and is the creation of both McCartney and architects from APA. The space is a combination of timber, concrete, brass rails and glass shelving. It is set to become a model for further Adidas by Stella McCartney stores which are slated to open worldwide.
"The vision was to create a great and unique store concept that positions the Adidas by Stella McCartney label as a premium sports collection," said Nick Craggs, marketing director for Adidas UK.
