The artist formerly known as Kate Middleton has been flying the flag for British fashion again today, at a special lunch with members of various international royal families as part of the ongoing Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

Kate chose a pink pleated dress with long sleeves by London-based fashion designer Emilia Wickstead. It apparently retails at £1,200 - a far cry from her sub-£100 Reiss 'bargains' and LK Bennett numbers. Unfortunately, we haven't managed to track down the exact number Kate's wearing, but we've found a couple of similar designs by Emilia Wickstead below.

Perhaps by spending a bit more on a frock, The Duchess of Cambridge is hinting that she's tired of the hysteria that surrounds every outing and every new high street fashion purchase?

Or maybe she just saw a nice dress and decided to indulge. Pastel pink is not a colour we've seen her wear very much before, but it's a refreshing change from blue, beige or white.

We particularly love this pic of Kate between her husband and brother-in-law. What do you reckon she's thinking?
