Putting that shaky start into the fashion world firmly behind him is Kanye West, who has teamed up with SHOWstudio for his latest music video. The rapper-turned-designer has collaborated with fashion filmmaker Ruth Hogben and photographer Nick Knight to create a film for Lost in World the new single from his album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

In typical SHOWstudio form, the video is dark and moody and moves at a very fast pace. Described as "breaking the mould of the popular rap aesthetic," the video is in black-and-white, and intercuts shots of Kanye with dancing models sporting white outfits.

It isn't the first time that Hogben and Knight have worked with a music artist. They have also previously collaborated with Lady Gaga for whom they produced a series of videos for her Monster Ball Tour. Other credits include working with designers such as Gareth Pugh, Rick Owens, stylists Katie Grand and Katie Shillingford, as well as brands like Louis Vuitton, Barneys, Mac Cosmetics and Selfridges.

I wonder why Kanye's new missus, Kim Kardashian, thinks of her fella's new music vid. But more importantly what do you, our dear readers, make of West's latest foray into the world of fashion and music? Does this style of film work with his music or should Kanye stick to what he does best - straight rap videos? Tell us what you think by leaving your comments below.
