RAFSIMONS2012COVER.jpgCheck out Raf Simons working the camera! The Artistic Director of Christian Dior takes centre stage for his first i.D magazine cover shoot, hiding amongst a bed of flowers for Mays 'Lights, Camera, Action' edition.Following months of speculation over who the house of Dior would name as John Galliano's replacement, Raf has opened up to i.D as he prepares to take quite possibly his biggest fashion journey yet - the unveiling of his debut Dior collection at Paris Haute Couture Week this July. Styled by industry friends Olivier Rizzo and photographed by Willy Vanderperre, Raf celebrates the start of a momentous new chapter in his life, and indeed his career, in what appears to be an honest and heartfelt interview.

Raf touches on various important markers in his life, including his final collection for Jil Sander, which he described as "...very wholesome, very romantic. Kind of like when you're outside, walking in nature. Beauty isn't always obvious; you have to search for it. That's what I find most romantic." The man behind the French house also talks about what inspired him to become a designer in the first place, "Fashion is not there to educate you, but to challenge you. Sometimes I speak with young kids and I have the feeling... not that they have no interest, but that they look at it in a different way. This is the reason I chose to do fashion, to create a dialogue and bring people together." Aww, bless.

The Lights, Camera, Action issue is available to buy from i-Donline.com from the 7th May and hits shelves on the 10th.
