Kate_Upton_1.jpgRumours are rife that Kate Upton has paid a whopping $25,000 to attend this year's Costume Institute Gala at the Metropolitan Museum. Page Six is reporting that the Sports Illustrated model put down $25k of her own money to grace fashion's night of nights with her presence next Monday.

The gossip column has been told that Upton recently went into Vogue's Time Square office to meet with Anna Wintour to discuss attending the ball.

"She told Anna she would really like to attend," said a source. "Then she offered to pay for her own ticket. Kate then whipped out her checkbook and paid the $25,000 for her seat. Anna took the check on the spot."

At the event which will this year honour Miuccia Prada and Elsa Schiaparelli, Upton is expected to wear Michael Kors and will sit at the designer's table. Page Six is also reporting that Upton, whose bikini-clad video with Terry Richardson was recently banned from YouTube, will soon appear in an upcoming issue of Vogue for a make over-themed article.
