I normally think Jessica Alba plays it too safe on the red carpet and wish she would mix it up a little more. But I feel like she messed it up here. She wore this mish mash of an outfit to the Lucky Magazine West Coast FABB: Fashion and Beauty Blog Conference held at Annenberg Beach House in Santa Monica, California. The outfit is very young. I usually don't really get too caught up in age-appropriate fashion rules if the person pulls off the look, but it's just not happening here, especially for a somewhat professional event.

I might like the gray sweater with a white color and black sequin tie detail with some dark denim and colorful heels, but not those heels. I know patent pointed-toe heels are way in, and I'm a fan of color blocking. But it's a busy accessory with an already busy item. Then you add in those printed pants - another really trendy look - and it's just too much.

Each of these items on their own are really cool! But all together it just doesn't work. Did her usual stylist Brad Goreski create this look or did she go renegade since this was a relatively minor event. This makes me think she can't be trusted to style herself.
